From the amount and nature of admixtures in nickel and zinc deposits obtained in the presence of surface-active substances containing sulphur, a conclusion is drawn about the leading r61e of the chemical nature of the metal in the determination of the type of its interaction with a surface-active addition agent. The insufficiency of a purely adsorptional mechanism in the estimation of the effect of such substances on the processes of electrocrystallization is pointed out. A relationship is established between the formation of "cryptocrystalline" structures of nickel deposits as well as their peculiar properties, and the chemical reaction in zone of the metal reduction. Zusammenfassung-Aus der Menge und Natur der Beimischungen in Nickel-und Zinkniederschliigen, welche in Gegenwart von Schwefel enthaltende, oberfllchenaktive Stoffen erhalten wurden werden iiber die fiihrende Rolle der chemischen Natur des Metalles in der Bestimmung des Typs seiner Wechselwirkung mit einer oberfllchen-aktiven Substanz bestimmte Schliisse gezogen. Auf das Ungeniigen eines reinen adsorptiven Mechanismus in der Abschltzung des Effekts solcher Substanzen auf die Vorgtinge bei der Elektro-Kristallisation wird hingewiesen.
