theoretical analysis is made of the response of the solid-liquid interface in a circular tube to induction heating. The stability of the interface is discussed and is used as a criterion for determination of the limiting conditions. The effects of superheat, velocity of the liquid, mode of cooling outside the tube and the power input in the induction coil on the position of the solid-liquid interface are evaluated for steadv state conditions. Transient response of the solid-liquid interface to a sudden change of operating parameters is also estimated.
