✦ Synopsis
Thermal co-evaporation of neodymium, cerium and copper in an oxygen atmosphere produces tl~i~, films of the 20 K, n-type superconductor, Nd2_xCexCuO4_6. The resistive transition is sharp ( 0.9 K, 90o/o -10% ) and complete at 22 K in ambient magnetic field. The resistive transition broadens if a magnetic field is applied parallel to the superconducting planes, and shifts and broadens if the field is applied perpendicular to these planes. The transition can be well described by an Arrhenius-type behavior with a temperature dependent activation energy.
