โœฆ Synopsis

The photoelectron emission method was used to determine the reorganization free energy of nuclear coordinates in one-electron oxidation reactions. The experimental results for eight ferrous complexes, some of which have large organic ligands, in aqueous solution are in excellent agreement with the theoretical ones.

The reorganization energy of electron-transfer reactions as a function of the distance between donor and acceptor molecules is calculated by Monte Carlo simulation. ## Abstract The oxidation of trivalent chromium in aqueous solution using atmospheric oxygen has been studied. Thermodynamically it has been shown that the oxidation is feasible at __pH__ values greater than 4. In practice the oxidation could be made to proceed only in very alkaline solution with t
