Valpromide (VPD) and valnoctamide (VCD) are two isomers which are aliphatic amides derived from short fatty acids that possess anticonvulsant activity. Our previous studies with VPD, VCD, and other related compounds showed that the biotransformation of these amides to their respective homologous ac
