An attempt is made to correlate experimental data on the cathodic consumption of thiourea in an acid copper plating solution with polarization data. The consumption rate has been assumed to be directly proportional both to surface coverage and to current density. Using the Langmuir adsorption isotherm and the concept of simple blocking action, consumption rates have been calculated and found to be in fair agreement with the experimental rates.
