Many works have been reported on the syntheses of ketones using organometallic compounds and iron carbonyl complexes are also employed for this purpose. 11 In this communication, we wish to report a new synthetic route of alkyl methyl ketones from aldehydes via the Knoevenagel condensates using tetracarbonylhydridoferrate.
