An examination of the reaction pathway in the 2+ 1 multiphoton dissociation of a series of related iron tricarbonyl organometallic complexes is reported. The study includes the use of pressure-dependent measurementsand the application of RRKM theory to explore the reaction mechanism. It is concluded

โฆ Synopsis
Detection of Te atoms in the ground 'P 2,,,0 states has been accomplished using two-photon laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) and "2 + 1" multiphoton ionization (MPI). Te atoms were produced by multiphoton dissociation of ( CZH&Te in the region 358-395 nm. The LIF and MPI experiments utilize selective excitation of the 6p 'P J-5p 'P? and 7p 'Pr + 5p 'PI transitions by two-photon absorption. Line strength intensities for the individual J' t.J" fine structure pairs of the 6p 'P? + 5p 'P,. two-photon transitions were calculated and compared to the LIF data. Intensities of these transitions of Te atoms are compared to analogous -'P+'P transitions in S and 0 atoms.

The first reported multiphoton ionization spectrum (2 + 1) for atomic germanium has been obtained by multiphoton dissociation of a tetraethylgermane (TEG) precursor. The germanium spectrum indicates that the atoms were produced primarily in the ground electronic state. Time-of-flight mass spectromet
