β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
Polyvinyl acetate phthalateβ^14^C~1~ (PV AP) was prepared by condensing radioactive phthalic anhydride with polyvinyl alcohol*. The radioactive anhydride was prepared from ethyl anthranilate The chemical purity and the authenticity of the PV AP so prepared was ascertained by a comparison of its acid number and thin layer chromatography to an authentic sample. The specific activity was determined using liquid scintillation counting.

## Abstract Aflatoxin B~1~β^14^C was produced by resting cell cultures of __Aspergillus flavus__ (NRRL 3145) from a sodium acetate β 1, 2β^14^C precursor. A specific activity of 455 uCi/uM was determined for the purified aflatoxin B~1~β^14^C.
## Abstract The synthesis of 3βindolylacetic acid labelled with ^14^C in side chain carbon atoms has been effected using (1β^14^C)glycolic acid, (1,2β^14^C~2~)glycolic acid and (2β^14^C)glycolic acid in an yield of 40β60%. Some of the parameters that affect the synthesis have been studied and the r
