✦ Synopsis

The pattern evoked electroretinogram (PERG) was investigated in 11 patients with unilateral optic nerve disease and in a series of age-matched controls. The visually evoked potential (VEP) was also measured. The PERG showed a similar reduction to the VEP in optic nerve disease. Serial studies indicate that the PERG may not be affected immediately in some instances but may show a gradual decline over several months.

We analyzed the electroretinogram elicited by pattern stimuli (PERG) in 29 patients with unilateral optic nerve disease. The normal fellow eyes served as a control. The aim of this study is to investigate in the rat the properties of the pattern electroretinogram (ERG) and to assess whether it depends upon the functional integrity of ganglion cells. Flash and pattern ERG were recorded from urethane anaesthetized hooded rats. The pattern ERG was evoked by phase

We have recorded both pattern and flash electroretinograms (ERG) in two patients with unilateral optic nerve damage due to optic canal fracture over one year. In six 3-week-old kittens, the tendon of the lateral rectus muscle of one eye was sectioned under anaesthesia in order to induce an esotropic (nasally-directed) squint. At maturity, the pattern electroretinogram (PERG) and pattern visual evoked response (PVER) were recorded under anaesthesia to phas
