A study has been made of the Oz/S02 electrode in moIten equimolar LisCO,-Na2C0, at 600Β°C. The overall electrode reaction, reaction order with respect to PsO, and exchange currents have been determined from opencircuit potential, potentiostatic and voltammetrtc measurements.

An improved kinetic model ofcatalytic oxidation of tetravalent sulphur in aqueous solutions has been suggested, based on oxygen absorption experiments carried out in a stirred tank with a plane interface. The model comprises a chemical network of catalyst (manganous soluble salt) transformations and
