✦ Synopsis

The oxidation of CFClCFCl and CF2CC12 were studied at room temperature by chlorine-

The chlorine-atom initiated oxidation 0 -CFClCFCl yields Its quantum yield is -420, which gives k,,/k,b = and oxygen-atom initiation. CCI,FCF(O) as the exclusive product. 210 where reactions (3a) and ( ) are (3a)

The 0(3P)-CF2CC12 interaction yields CF2O and C m C 1 2 with quantum yields of 1 .O and -0.85, respectively. In the presence of 0 2 the radical chain products are observed, but the mechanism is different than that for other chloroolefins.

The absolute UV absorption cross sections of CF3CC1202, CFJCHF02, CFC12CH202, and CFZCICH20, have been measured in the gas phase at 298 K in the range 200-290 nm using the flash-photolysis technique. CF,COCl has been identified as a product in the system involving the self-reaction of CF$C1202.
