The behavior of the electrical conductivity of polycarboxylate cement with temperature was studied from room temperature up to 160OC. The effects of powder/liquid ratio, mixing temperature, percentage of MgO in the powder, and aging on this behavior were also investigated. The results obtained revea

Abstract
The matrix of a stoichiometric zinc polycarboxylate cement has been shown to be identical with zinc polycarboxylate salt, which consists principally of neutralized carboxylate groups with a few free acid groups. When excess zinc oxide is present, as in practical cements, there are no free acid groups present. There is no evidence for the formation of a chelate. Both salt and cement matrices are amorphous. The formation of the salt appears to control timedependent changes in the consistency of the cement pastes.

## Abstract Powdered, sterilized zinc polycarboxylate was implanted subcutaneously in 56 young hamsters and 54 mice, using equal numbers of each sex, with 24 sham operated hamsters and 26 mice as controls. The hamsters were sacrificed after 15 months and the mice after 12. Implant material was reco
The formation and structure of zinc polyacrylate has been studied by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FUR). Using this technique we have shown that the t'ully hardened cement is bonded predominantly by zinc carboxylate complexes, rather than by associations of purely ionic character as had p
