## Abstract Ruthenium olefin metathesis catalysts have been evaluated for the ethenolysis of methyl oleate, a natural seed oil derivative, to produce useful terminal olefins. Several __N__‐heterocyclic carbene‐based ruthenium catalysts demonstrate good activity and selectivity for the formation of
