The infrared spectrum of SCF 2 was recorded in the 1000 -1400 cm Ϫ1 region with a resolution of 2.5 ϫ 10 Ϫ3 cm Ϫ1 . The rotationally resolved 1 and 4 band systems were studied for the first time, and altogether 11 500 transitions were assigned. Both fundamentals are involved in strong anharmonic (Fe

✦ Synopsis
Chlorine nitrate is a molecule of interest in atmospheric studies because of its role as a reservoir species, removing both chlorine and nitrogen species from catalytic cycles of ozone destruction. The ground and ν 9 vibrational states have been previously studied in the millimeter and submillimeter spectral regions. We have now recorded and analyzed the next states that are lowest in energy, the coupled 2ν 9 /ν 7 dyad, from 128 through 355 GHz using a fast scan submillimeter spectroscopic technique system.

A first full rotational analysis of high-resolution gas-phase spectra of the lowest frequency fundamental bands, n 9 and n 12 , of formaldoxime, CH 2 NOH, has been completed. In addition the weak n 7 fundamental has been analyzed at medium resolution, and the complex structure of the bands in the n
High-resolution (⌬ ϭ 2.3 and 2.9 ϫ 10 Ϫ3 cm Ϫ1 ) FTIR spectra of natural and 35 Cl monoisotopic CH 3 CF 2 Cl have been recorded at Ϫ70°C in the 600 -1400 cm Ϫ1 range. The bands 7 , 8 , and 15 have been rotationally analyzed for both isotopic varieties. With the help of predictions based on 8 paramet
A high-resolution analysis of the {ν 2 , ν 3 } and {ν 4 , ν 6 } bands of the two isotopomers of chloryl fluoride F 35 ClO 2 and F 37 ClO 2 has been carried out for the first time using simultaneously infrared spectra recorded around 16 µm and 26 µm with a resolution of ca. 0.003 cm -1 and microwave
