✦ Synopsis

A high-resolution analysis of the {ν 2 , ν 3 } and {ν 4 , ν 6 } bands of the two isotopomers of chloryl fluoride F 35 ClO 2 and F 37 ClO 2 has been carried out for the first time using simultaneously infrared spectra recorded around 16 µm and 26 µm with a resolution of ca. 0.003 cm -1 and microwave and submillimeter-wave transitions occurring within the vibrational states 2 1 , 3 1 , 4 1 , and 6 1 . Taking into account the Coriolis resonances which link the rotational levels of the {2 1 , 3 1 } and the {4 1 , 6 1 } interacting states, it was possible to reproduce very satisfactorily the observed transitions and to determine accurate vibrational energies and rotational constants for the upper states 2 1 , 3 1 , 4 1 , and 6 1 of both the 35 Cl and 37 Cl isotopic species.
