## Abstract In this paper, the method of lines (MoLs), which has been proved to be very efficient for calculating the characteristics of oneโdimensional and twoโdimensional planar microwave structures, is extended to nonequidistant discretization with pseudospectral technique. This pseudospectral M

Abstract
A fullโwave analysis of the compositeโmetal microstrip lines is presented. The effects of the composite metal to the loss of the microstrip lines are accurately investigated, which are often avoided by other methods. The metal layers of the microstrip lines are considered as lossy inhomogeneous layers. The effects of the thickness of the Au layer and Ti layer are given, respectively. And the reasons that lead to the differences between them are discussed for the first time by analyzing the longitudinal electric field on the strip. The results are compared with other published data. Copyright ยฉ 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

## Abstract The finiteโelement method has been used for analyzing open microstrip line structures on highly lossy substrates. The geometry descritization has been carried out by using quadrilateral elements, and the spurious solutions are avoided by employing tangential vector formulation. The diff

The results indicate that with a small spacing of 1 mm between the two PIFAs, good isolation of better than ฯช20 dB for frequencies over the 2.4-and 5-GHz bands can be achieved. Good radiation characteristics for the proposed two integrated PIFAs have also been obtained. T
## Abstract A new eigenmode algorithm based on the method of lines and the generalized transmission line equations is applied on fullโwave analysis of (3โD) MMIC components. The analytical calculation in the direction of propagation enables the analysis of structures of very short or long interconn
