✦ Synopsis

Absorption of Ar+ laser lines in the C *II-X %+ system of BaF leads to infrared fluorescence, C %-A' 2A. This has been recorded at high resolution by Fourier-transform spectrometry. Constants for the 2A state have been determined, and some improvements in the values of the constants for X *Z+, B %+ and C *II are also reported.
