We report the first successful demonstration of a LIF study performed on small molecular ions in a jet expansion produced by resonantly enhanced multiphoton ionization. The study involves the 2 + 1 multiphoton ionization via the B 'X + state ofjet-cooled CO molecules. Sufftcient downstream densities
