✦ Synopsis

Manganous hydroxide layers, prepared by cathodic deposition, have been studied during charge and discharge at constant current in M KOH. The conditions for deposition of the hydroxide have been found to infhrence its kinetics of oxidation. The final oxidation product has a well characterized X-ray diffraction pattern and a composition near MnO 1.86 ILnr 1.0 H*O, but the intermediate phase transition appears to be complex.
