The Fourier transform Raman spectra of several isotactic and atactic polystyrene samples are presented. Correlations between the spectra and the crystallinity and conformation of the samples are discussed.

We have performed high-resolution light scattering and ultrafast optical Kerr effect experiments on liquid samples and have compared both data by using the time-domain Fourier-transform. Complete agreement has been obtained in the frequency range from 3 GHz to 6 THz. This is the first report in whic
Fourier transform Raman scattering spectra were measured for Cd 1--x Zn x Te (x = 0.04) surfaces by different treatments. By analyzing the anti-Stokes Raman spectra and correlating with surface current-voltage (I-V) curves, it is concluded that Raman measurement under low temperature is effective in
The infrared absorption spectrum of the PN molecule has been recorded for the first time using an FTIR spectrometer. A flowing discharge of \(\mathrm{PCl}_{3}\) and \(\mathrm{N}_{2}\) was used to produce short-lived \(\mathrm{PN}\) molecules at room temperature in a long-path cell. Spectra of the fu
This paper follows the development of instrumentation for Raman spectroscopy, both FT and dispersive, from the emergence of the laser in the early 1960s to the present day. The relative strengths and weaknesses of the two approaches are discussed with particular emphasis on NIR excitation. THE FIRST
