✦ Synopsis

The reduction of methyl viologen (MV") and 9,lO-anthraquinone-2-sulfonate (AQS) hy the henzopinacol anion in 50% (v/v) propan-2-ol/water was investigated spectroscopically. The rate constants for these reactions were found to be 12.9 ? 0.2 and 0.23 ? 0.01 M-' s-', respectively.
