It is demonstrated by means of kinetic simulation that there exists at least two quasistationary regimes in which the process of methane oxidation can be realized depending on experimental conditions and that the transition between these regimes is of a critical nature.

Effect of the process parameters and catalysts modification on the oxidative conversion of methane to C2-hydrocarbons and formaldehyde has been investigated in this paper. A qualitative correlation between surface acid-base characteristics and their catalytic properties has been established.
