✦ Synopsis

A few years ago, we reported that the alcoholysis of N-BenoyI-N'-phenyldiimide led to the (21 formation of phenyl radicals.

Thus this reaction sequence was indeed unique, since it was a heterolysis, which was followed by a homolysis in a polar media.
