The interaction between iodine and AOT in reversed micelle solutions of AOT in \(n\)-hexane is reported. The absorption spectrum of iodine exhibits two bands in \(n\)-hexane: \(\lambda_{\max }=\mathbf{5 2 0}\) and \(290 \mathrm{~nm}\). When AOT is added a new absorption band appears at \(385 \mathrm

## Abstract Aerosol OT (diβoctyl sodium sulphosuccinate) enhances the germicidal activity of various substances in the presence of a castor oil soap when __B. typhosus__ is used as the test organism. The effect is not so marked when a sulphonated castor oil is used. The increase of germicidal power
A detailed Raman spectroscopic study of the bis-(di-2-ethylhexyl)sodium sulphosuccinate (Aerosol OT)-water system has been carried out at ambient temperature (20 -+ 2Β°C). Marked changes were observed in the relative intensity of the band at 1460 cm -1 when the concentration of Aerosol OT was varied.
