β¦ Synopsis
The thermal behaviour of the title compounds introduced into the ion source of a mass spectrometer has been revisited using tandem mass spectrometry techniques, mainly collisional-activation mass spectrometry, neutralization-reionization mass spectrometry, and consecutive collisional-activation reactions. Electron impact ionization, chemical ionization and desorption of ions by liquid secondary ion mass spectrometry were applied to characterize the pyrolysis products of these salts. It is shown that the nature of the counter ion influences greatly the nature of the products.
