An apparatus for the measurement of the viscosity of liquids and gases, interchangeably, is described. Measurements of the viscosity of liquid helium made with this apparatus are reported. The measurements were made over the temperature range from 1.2 to 4.0oK.

The authors remeasured the viscosity of liquid helium with a somewhat improved apparatus. The method was that of the oscillating disc. Results obtained in the neighbourhood of the lambda-point are only given. These results make it probable that a discontinuity of the viscosity at the lambdapoint doe
New measurements on the vapour pressure curve of helium were made. They gave temperatures which throughout are slightly higher than those calculated according to the formulae which form the basis of the temperature scale 1932, to a maximum of 0.026 degree for helium II at 1.6 ~ K, and of 0.015 degre
