✦ Synopsis

The sedimentation rate of ochre suspension in the presence of copolymer decreases with increase of ionic strength (p) and decrease of copolymer concentration. The dependence of the flocculation properties of copolymers for ochre on chemical inhomogeneity of the copolymers is more significant for low values of p than for large values of,u. The data were explained in terms of the influence of chemical structure and conformational state of macromolecules on the formation of bridges between particles of ochre by means of macromolecules.
