✦ Synopsis

Acta Polymerica 35 (1984) Nr. 12 724 positions in the barrel, the melt temperature in the die and the screw speed were taken into account as independent parameters.

The screw speed is the most important parameter for melt flow rate, for all the studied blends. This conclusion is very important for computer control process implementation.

The energy consumption forthe screw rotation depends on both the screw speed and the thermal regime of the barrel.

The maxima of the melt flow rate a t certain constraint of the energy consumption were determined.
