The thiolase family is a widespread group of proteins present in prokaryotes and three cellular compartments ofeukaryotes. This fact makes this family interesting in order to study the evolutionary process of eukaryotes. Using the sequence ofperoxisomal thiolase from Saccharomyces cerevisiae recentl
