✦ Synopsis
We report the first observation of the laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) excitation and dispersed fluorescence spectra of the A 'Bi-2 'Ai transition of germylene radicals. GeH2 and GeDs radicals are produced in a supersonic free jet by the ArF excimer laser ( 193 nm) photolysis of phenylgermane and phenylgermane-a-&, respectively. The progressions of the v2 bending vibration appear in the LIF excitation and dispersed fluorescence spectra. The vibrational assignment is carried out from the deuterium isotope shifts. Molecular constants are determined including anharmonicity terms.
