The Rhizobium sp., isolated from the root nodules of the leguminous climbing herb, Tephrosia Purpurea Pers., produced high amounts of extracellular polysaccharides (EPS) in yeast extract mannitol medium. Growth and EPS production started simultaneously, but the production reached its maximum in the
