## Abstract Cementite/Fe~3~C carbide in a commercial low carbon steel after prolonged service in naphtha environment with traces of sulphur of 0.3 ppm and at a temperature of 200–220°C has been examined. It has been stated that under the influence of sulphur, cementite at the steel surface and ins
