β¦ Synopsis
The dissociative sticking probability (So) of HI on Cu( 110) for surface temperatures in the range 140< T,<250 K has been measured as a function of translational energy (I?,) and angle (#) of the incident molecules. The onset of sticking is sharp and occurs when the normal component of translational beam energy E i or 200 meV. At 260 meV, S, is still only 2x IO-" but is rising quickly. A "near" normal energy scaling for So is exhibited in the measured range 180<E, x 260 meV. Measurements of S, as a function of incident angle reveal an angular-dependent sticking probability which is strongly peaked (cos"$) towards the surface normal. These results indicate that the activation barrier to dissociative adsorption is significantly higher than previously believed.

## Abstract In this paper we present a method of deriving the ion energy reflection coefficient __R__ ~E~ from simultaneous measurements of the currentβ and energy flux density as functions of the bias voltage applied. __R__ ~E~ is measured as a function of the angle in a low temperature magnetized
The effect of changing the L C=O -. \* H on the energy of the linear hydrogen bond has been studied by ab initio calculations for one formamide-methane complex and two formamide-water complexes, which differ in the position of the second hydrogen (H2,) of the water molecule (i.e. the one not involve
