โœฆ Synopsis

The electrostatic interaction between two parallel, planar charged surfaces with periodic mixed boundary conditions is analyzed. The Poisson-Boltzmann equation (PBE) governing the powhere C ร… ef/kT, x ร… kx หœ, y ร… ky หœ, z ร… kz หœ, and k 2 ร… (e 2 อš i z 2 i n i 0 )/ tential distribution of the system under consideration is solved by (e r e 0 kT ). In these expressions, (x หœ, y หœ, z หœ) denotes the position of a point in the Fourier transformation method coupled with the convolution space, f is the electrostatic potential, k and e are, respectively, the Boltz- mann constant and the elementary charge, T is the absolute temperature, z i theory. The present approach provides an efficient way to solve a and n i 0 are, respectively, the valence and the concentration of the ith ion PBE with a general mixed boundary condition. On the basis of this species in the bulk liquid phase, and e r and e 0 are the relative permittivity approach, an analytical expression for the electrostatic interaction of solution and the permittivity of the vacuum, respectively. Here, C denotes energy is derived. In addition to its generality, the method prothe dimensionless electrostatic potential, and 1/k is the Debye length. For posed is very convenient for the description of the shift of the convenience, one of the two surfaces is placed at z ร… 0L and the other at relative position of two surfaces.

The long-range electrostatic interaction between a pair of similarly charged colloidal spheres and a charged planar wall at low surface potentials is theoretically investigated. The linear Poisson-Boltzmann equation (PBE) and the point charge approximation of the charged sphere are used. The electri
