The gas-phase, ion molecule reaction between C,O:' and C,O, has been studied by both double-focusing and ion trap mass spectrometry, rationalized by the formation of a dimeric, odd electron cation IC6041+" which decomposes extensively through sequential CO losses giving rise to IC,O,l+. and IC,O,l+'

β¦ Synopsis
Using pure chemical reagents and varying the VI& content (O-3.5w!w O'O) two series of nine compositions, each for C$ and C+ phases, were prepared at 1450 "C and investigated in respect of the vanadium effect on the phases formed. Results derived by S-Ray Diffraction (SRD), step by step SRD scanning and DSC analysis reveal that V2c) addition up to O.S(wiw) % promotes C$ formation. Ako, up to the percentage 3.5(w/w) '%I examined enhances the C,A phase.. In both cases V&Is effect increases remarkably the crystal size D.
