โฆ Synopsis
The e$ciency of noise barriers is usually estimated neglecting their elastic behaviour. In this paper, the total vibro-acoustical response of simple barriers is considered. A variational approach with a boundary-element technique is used. It is a generalization of an existing formalism developed for the study of two-dimensional acoustical problems. The case of straight and thin barriers is studied. It is found that, at low frequencies, their vibrations can modify their insertion losses by several decibels.

It is well-known that an absorptive obstacle installed on the edge of a noise barrier improves sound shielding efficiency without increasing the height of the barrier. This paper examines the sound shielding efficiency of a noise barrier with an acoustically ''soft'' cylindrical edge. ''Soft'' indic
A numerical method is presented for calculating the sound pressure around a noise barrier of constant but arbitrary cross-section. To obtain the exact solution of this problem, the Helmholtz equation must be solved in the three-dimensional domain outside the barrier. It is shown in this article how
Camera calibration is the estimation of parameters (both intrinsic and extrinsic) associated with a camera being used for imaging. Given the world coordinates of a number of precisely placed points in a 3D space, camera calibration requires the measurement of the 2D projection of those scene points
