Abstract
Spin—lattice relaxation times are calculated near the phase transition for a uniaxial ferroelectric containing defects. The defects are assumed to couple linearly to the order parameter. Defects and order parameter are of relaxator type. The corresponding Langevin equations are given and solved with help of perturbation theory for small anharmonicity and weak influence of the randomly located defects on the Curie temperature. It is found that the experimentally observed opposite anomalies of the spin—lattice relaxation times in TGS can be understood for definite values of the defect parameter.
