✦ Synopsis

Canine X-linked muscular dystrophy (CXMD) is an inherited degenerative myopathy which is clinically [I] and pathogenetically homologous to Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) [2]. In this report we present preliminary data which show that mild exercise in dystrophic dogs results in rapid and marked release of muscle enzymes into the serum.

Four dystrophic male dogs, aged 7 months (2) and 15 months (2), one 7-month-old dystrophic female, and two normal, unrelated male beagles, aged 16 months and 4.5 years, were studied. Dogs were placed in 4 x 3 x 2-foot

The aim of our study was to evaluate the influence of low-intensity exercise on levodopa absorption and levodopa motor effect. We studied the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of levodopa under resting conditions and under a workload of 50 watts for 2 hours on a cycle ergometer in 12 parkinsonia

Studies were carried out to determine if an intraspinal transplant (Trpl) of fetal spinal cord tissue or hind limb exercise (Ex) affected the changes in myosin heavy chain (MyHC) composition or myofiber size that occur following a complete transection (Tx) of the lower thoracic spinal cord of the ad
