β¦ Synopsis
Mammary turnours were induced in rats by intragastric administration of 3-methylcholanthrene. More than 75% of the tumours attained palpable size between 3 and I 1 weeks after the last dose of the carcinogen. Adrenalectomy did not inhibit the growth of tumours already present and appeared even to encourage tumour growth. However, the stimulating effect of adrenalectomy was outweighed by the inhibition of tumour growth caused by subsequent removal of the ovaries.

TRE inhibited the tumur weight and the tumours were found to be nonnecrotic. Superoxide dismutase (SOD), a free radical scavenger, in the sera of TRE
2-Methoxyoestrogens are emerging as a new class of drug that can inhibit tumour growth and angiogenesis. As sulphamoylation of oestrogens enhances their potency and bioavailability we have synthesized 2-methoxyoestrone-3-O-sulphamate (2-MeOEMATE) and compared its ability to inhibit the proliferation
## Abstract The effect of exogenous administration of human placental lactogen (HPL) on 7,12βdimethylbenz(a)anthracene (DMBA)βinduced mammary tumors was studied in female SpragueβDawley rats. Twice daily injections of 1 or 2 mg HPL for 20 days showed marked stimulation of appearance and growth of m
