## Abstract The complexes formed by the steroid rocuronium bromide with four different cyclodextrins (β‐cyclodextrin, γ‐cyclodextrin, Org 26054 and Org 25969) were investigated. The diffusion coefficients of the steroid–cyclodextrin complexes were 6–15% lower than those of the native cyclodextrins,

✦ Synopsis
Abstract
Formation of complexes between crown ethers and cyclodextrins has been studied using diffusion measurements. The structures of the complexes have been proposed on the basis of the theoretical calculations and the results obtained. Relation between the structural parameters (rings' diameter and symmetry) and the tendency of molecules' interactions are discussed. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

## Abstract The structural changes during the complexation of benzo‐crown ethers with Cs^+^, K^+^ and Na^+^ were studied by NOESY and variable‐temperature ^13^C NMR spectroscopy. It was found that, on complexation, the distance between the CH‐α and 1‐CH~2~ is reduced in dibenzo‐24‐crown‐8 (DB24C8),
## Abstract Multinuclear pulsed gradient spin‐echo (PGSE) NMR diffusion and linewidth measurements were used to probe binding and transport in aqueous Na^+^‐15‐crown‐5, Na^+^‐18‐crown‐6, Cs^+^‐15‐crown‐5 and Cs^+^‐18‐crown‐6 systems. Since direct PGSE observation of many alkali cations is precluded
## Abstract A new type of crown ethers containing a diphenyl ether unit has been prepared, the ring size ranging from 12 to 36. ^1^H and ^13^C NMR spectra of both free ligands and their metal‐ion complexes have been recorded. For 18‐ and 21‐membered compounds a general downfield shift was observed
