โฆ Synopsis
A Monk Carlo swdy of [he slalic dielctxic consLant of a fluid of polar hard spheres is presented. For fined values of lhe dipole moment. it is found that Ihe dielectric constant is essentially independent of Ihc charge scparatinn. This esIablishes that lhe decrease in dielceuic constam for polar hard dumbbells as the bond length increases is due LO the shape forces alone. The sire-sire radial distribution functions for the polar hard-sphere fluid are continuous functions of r. The usual disconlinuily associated with the hard-sphere poleminI is absent.

The effect of medium dielectric inhomogeneity on the solvent reorganization energy in charge transfer processes is investigated for the model describing reactants as two dielectric spheres. It is shown that this effect is of the order of 16% for the contact position of the reactants and decreases wh
