The inethorl & &tially adopted Thc rengeuts used were :

(1) Matigonous u r a q l a&tate stock solufiotl.-To 160.0 g. of UO2(OAe).,,2H20, 490.0 g. of B1n(OAc),,4H2O, and 138.0 nil. of 30% ncetic ncid nre ndded 1800 nil. of wnter and the solution is made up to 2 litrea. After 24 hours the solution is filtered nnd kept in n dnrk bottle.

(2) Diliclc alcoholic ittartyatious uratryl ncctatc so1tcfiori.-For lirecipitating sodium, 180;nl. of rengent (1) nrc mixed with 60 nil. of 95% nlcoliol, and, nfter 4 hours, the solution is filtered through no. 42 Whntninn filter-pnper. The solution reinnins unclrnnged for three weeks if stored in a dnrk bottle.
