β¦ Synopsis
A review on the use of the demetallation reaction in radiohalogen labelling is given, with particular emphasis on bromine and fluorine radiolabelling.
The metals which are included are mercury, thallium, boron, tin, silicon and lead. The preparation of organometallics containing these metals, the cleavage of the metal moiety with radiobromine and radiofluorine and the application of this chemistry to radiopharmaceutical synthesis will be discussed.
