## Abstract The results of studies on the Alonizing of cast carbon steel and of testing the corrosion resistance of this cast steel in an atmosphere containing 5 to 6% SO~2~ + 50% SO~3~ at 853 K are described and compared with the results obtained with unalonized cast carbon steel and high‐alloy 23
