โœฆ Synopsis

It is shown that in the combustion (between 270ยฐC and 400ยฐC) of methyl isopropyl ketone and methyl t-butyl ketone (pinacolone) there was ready abstraction of a hydrogen atom from the methyl group. Oxidation then followed by the two mechanisms already reported 3 for acetone and methyl ethyl ketone.

Activity coefficients of hydrocarbons and chloroparaffins at infinite dilution in methyl phenyl ether, butyl ether and methyl iso-butyl ketone at 293.15 K have been obtained by the retentiontime method in a modified gas chromatograph. The experimental data are compared with predictions of the UNIFAC
