✦ Synopsis

We present an aperture-coupled microship antenna for mobile applications. The antenna is investigated eperimental(y and its measured impedance and radiation propetiies are verijied by a cavity model. A theory for an aperture-coupled microship antenna at higher-order modes is developed by application of the caviry model, and the characteristics at the TM1, mode are reported. A maximum bandwidth of about 8% is

achieved The investigations may be use@ for low-angle scanning applications using conical beams.

## Abstract The phase centre of a dual‐mode circular microstrip antenna is investigated when the fundamental TM~11~ and higher order TM~02~ modes are excited. It is shown that the location of the phase centre can be controlled by the excitation amplitude and phase of these modes. The problem is tre

In this paper, the tilt of a feedline with regard to a slot is taken into account to impro¨e the ca¨ity model, and also to see the effect of this angle on the input impedance. In fact, the angle is introduced in the ¨oltage discontinuity of the slot on the feeding line. The computed results are comp

## Abstract This paper presents an experimental study on the characteristics of annular‐ring patch antennas with slotted and photonic bandgap (PBG) ground planes for operation in the higher order TM~21~ mode for conical‐pattern radiation. The antenna studied has an air–layer substrate, and is fed u
