The near-infrared electronic transition of CuS has been observed for the first time. The spectrum of the Y 2 ⌺ ϩ -X 2 ⌸ transition, labeled by analogy with the CuO near infrared electronic transition, was recorded with the Fourier transform spectrometer associated with the McMath-Pierce Solar Telesc

✦ Synopsis
The C 2 r → X 2 + electronic transition of BO has been observed in emission under high resolution. Thirty-six bands have been analyzed for 11 BO and six for 10 BO. The C state is shown to be a regular state and better constants are given. Strong perturbations are discussed on the basis of the theoretical calculations of Karna and Grein (J. Mol. Spectrosc. 122, 356-364 (1987)).

The near-infrared spectrum of the B 2 ⌺ ϩ -X 2 ⌺ ϩ band system of the BaI molecule, obtained from the chemiluminescent reaction Ba ϩ I 2 and also by laser-induced fluorescence (LIF), was recorded by using Fourier transform spectroscopy (FTS). The LIF spectra were obtained by using a Ti:sapphire sing
We have generated MgNC in supersonic free jet expansions and measured the laser-induced fluorescence excitation spectra of the C-N stretching vibronic bands of the à 2 -X 2 + transition. Rotational analysis yields the molecular constants of the vibronic levels, (1,0,0) and (1,0,1), in the à 2 state.
