Journal of Biophotonics can look back on a very successful year 2009. In the second year since its foundation in 2008 the frequency of publication was increased to 12 issues. Among these 12 issues we had five topical issues edited by scientists leading in their fields, reporting about exciting biophotonic topics such as:
