✦ Synopsis

Two triplet band systems, the (b^{3} \Phi-a^{3} \Delta) and (d^{3} \Delta-a^{3} \Delta) systems, found in the photographic region of the gas-phase emission spectrum of (\mathrm{ZrS}) have been rotationally analyzed. The systems are located at 8612 and (6655 \AA), respectively. A microwave discharge was used as the light source. The spectrum was recorded photographically with a (5-\mathrm{m}) Fastie spectrograph. The analysis includes seven bands of the (b^{3} \Phi-a^{3} \Delta) system and five bands of the (d^{3} \Delta-a^{3} \Delta) system found in the (2,0), ((1,0),(0,0)), and ((0,1)) sequences. None of the subbands correspond to satellite transitions. Only the most abundant isotopomer ({ }^{90} \mathrm{ZrS}) is discussed. Molecular constants have been determined for the three states involved. The fit to the lower state also includes branches of the infrared (b^{\prime 3} 11-) (a^{3} \Delta) system of (\mathrm{ZrS}). The (b^{3} \Phi-a^{3} \Delta) system together with the (B^{1} I I-X^{1} \Sigma^{+})system of (\mathrm{ZrS}) can be recognized among the Keenan-Wing molecular absorption bands in the spectra from cool S-type stars.
